CIM Calgary Branch, in collaboration with CIM MES, is pleased to present:

Terry Morris

Engineering Manager KMC Mining

who will deliver a presentation on:

A Perspective on Mine Safety in Western Canada – The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

During this talk, I plan to share some stories and insight regarding my experience with mine safety as my coal-mining career progressed both corporately and geographically from west to east from BC to Alberta to Saskatchewan (and now as a contractor with KMC mining).

Biography: Terry Morris is a professional mining engineer from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Prior to joining the team at KMC Mining in 2018, he enjoyed a decade of progression through technical and operations leadership roles at several (perhaps too many?) surface coal mines in Western Canada. While currently leveraging his surplus of personality as an overzealous engineering manager, his true love has always been strategic mine planning or “being right” 25 years from now. He has a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Alberta and a graduate diploma in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. Terry resides in Edmonton with his wife Michelle and their four ridiculous children.
