who will deliver a presentation on:

Increase Productivity with the Right Technology

Technology shouldn’t be seen as a silver bullet, especially when it comes to the unique challenges of the mining environment. The latest and fastest wireless technologies are doomed to fail if the uniqueness of the environment and the miner’s requirements are not fully understood.

Productivity increase through selection and deployment of the appropriate wireless technology is available to all miners that take the time to understand their business, operational and environmental requirements. In addition, understanding the uniqueness of the mining challenges, like mobility, contention, interference and security risks will give them a superior advantage as the mine evolves.

But there is no one size fits all. The selection of the appropriate technology should be based on a range of factors including equipment count, current and future applications, RF environment, operation and business direction. In addition, the selection should include whenever possible efficient re-use of existing infrastructure, scalability for future growth and redundancy.

So let’s review the options currently and in the future available to the mining industry.
