Abstract: Jonathan Weekes of Marsh Canada Limited will discuss recent developments in the world of information and operational technology security and cyber risk. He will examine recent high profile cyber incidents, how new technology is impacting the mining industry and how technology is altering cyber risks faced by the mining industry. Jonathan will also outline how cyber insurance can be used as an effective risk transfer tool and how to determine if cyber insurance is the right option for an organization.

 

BIO: Jonathan Weekes is a Vice President in Marsh Canada’s National Cyber Practice based in Toronto. Joining Marsh in 2018 from a leading global insurer, Jonathan brings extensive experience in underwriting cyber liability, technology errors & omissions and architects & engineers professional liability risks. His experience working with clients in several industry groups including retail, construction, mining, financial institutions and manufacturing enables him to engage clients and colleagues across Marsh’s various specialty groups. Marsh is a global leader in insurance broking and risk management. In more than 130 countries, experts in every facet of risk and across industries help clients to anticipate, quantify, and more fully understand the range of risks they face.
