Change in Copper Supply: What Do We Face in 10 Years?

Abstract:  Benjamin Cox explores the changes he expects in the copper supply over the next decade, laying out the core market factors stakeholders in the copper space should care about. The presentation focuses on the limited supply growth of copper for reasons ranging from political risk to an inconsistent _ow of capital. The under-supply of copper, combined with the price constraints on copper, gives Mr. Cox a bullish view of copper in the medium to long term.

The presentation looks in detail at the following issues:

  • Scarcity or oversupply of water
  • Political and nationalization risk
  • Dwindling mine grade
  • Limited feasible discoveries
  • Inconsistent capital flow
