David D. Davidson MSc, MBA

entitled:

Commodity Markets – A Forecaster’s Dilemma

Rarely has the market been swamped with such an array of conflicting economic and industrial data. China – hard landing or soft? Europe – has the bottom been put in? The US – improving economy to be short circuited by tapering? Any wonder why the commodity complex and related equities continue to probe new depths? Espouse all the supply/demand fundamentals you want – in this market it is easy, and ironically the best decision, to ignore the fundamentals in the short term. The old maxim “the cure for low prices is low prices” remains true today. The seeds are being set for a recovery. The question is when?
