Contract Mining Opportunities and Cost Management

 

With the increasing magnitude and frequency of the mining commodity cycle, to safeguard profits mining companies will need more flexibility and nimbleness to alter production, assets deployed and labour engaged.

Western Canada mining industry engages contract mining less than other regions in the world leaving the local industry at a competitive disadvantage. This presentation will investigate the opportunity to conduct contract mining in business terms. In addition, the presentation will highlight contact mining cost sensitivities.

 

Biography:

Haig is Senior Mining Consultant with RPM Global in Calgary. He is adept at analyzing and implementing financial models for costing mine operations that have mobile and/or fixed plant equipment within open pit and underground mines across a multitude of commodities.

Haig has accumulated a wealth of mining systems experience, in addition to financial modeling he has experience systemizing short term planning and logistics in open cut coal mining, rail freight and shipping port operations as well as strengths in coal quality and environmental management. Haig holds a Bachelor of Science from University of Sydney, a bachelor of Environmental Management from the University of Queensland and an Executive MBA from the University of Calgary.
